We are inviting sarcoidosis patients to take part in a research study investigating the effects of steroid side effects. Individuals who have Sarcoidosis are eligible to participate in the survey, regardless of steroid usage. This survey is being conducted by Cleveland Clinic in collaboration with the European Lung Foundation and the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research.

What is the purpose of the "Side Effects of Steroids" survey?

The goals of the "Side Effects of Steroids" survey are to understand what side effects sarcoidosis patients experience from steroids to encourage development of new treatments and future processes to identify and prevent harmful effects of steroids.

What does this survey include?
The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. The survey includes questions about sarcoidosis, medications taken, and side effects. The survey includes demographic questions such as age, country of residence, gender, race, and ethnicity.

Who can take the "Side Effects of Steroids" survey?

Any person who has been told they have sarcoidosis by a medical professional can take this survey. Please only take this survey one time.

Who will see the results of this survey?

This survey is anonymous. All the information that you provide will be treated as confidential and will only be used for research purposes. Your comments will not be identified as belonging to you, instead they will be combined with those gathered from other survey participants and will be analyzed as part of a group. We do not use any of the information you provide for direct marketing or other non-research activities. The collection of all survey responses will be shared by Cleveland Clinic with European Lung Foundation and Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research collaborators.

There is a potential risk of loss of confidentiality of your data.  Efforts will be made to keep your information confidential. This survey will not ask you for identifying information and data will be stored in a password-protected computer accessible only by the research team.

Will I receive payment for taking the "Side Effects of Steroids" survey?

There is no payment for taking this survey. You will not directly benefit from participating, however taking part may help researchers understand patient experience of steroid side effects.

Who can I contact if I have questions about my sarcoidosis or treatment after taking this survey?

If you have questions about your sarcoidosis or any of the side effects listed in the survey, please contact your local healthcare team.

How can I participate in this survey?
